If you are
involved in an accident, even on private property, and the damage results in over $750 you must report this to DMV within 10 days. You or your insurance agent, broker, or legal representative must complete the SR 1 report and send it to the DMV within 10 days if someone is killed or injured (no matter how minor the injury) or property damage is over $750. The SR 1 report is required in addition to any other report made to the police, CHP, or your insurance company.
The SR 1 form is available at DMV field offices, at CHP offices, or online www.dmv.ca.gov. This report is required whether you caused the collision or not, and even if the collision occurred on private property. Visit our desktop site to download the SR 1 form.
Do I have the right to choose the body shop, or does my insurance tell me where to go?
You are under no obligation to use any particular auto shop. You choose the shop and authorize the repairs. The insurance company can ONLY make a suggestion.
Why do prices vary so much from shop to shop?
There is a big difference in prices from shop to shop. Any body shop can give a lower estimate by leaving out something or overlooking parts. Our people are craftsman and do an excellent job of restoring your car to pre-loss condition.
How difficult it is to match my car's paint?
All paint colors are computer matched.
How do I know if my body frame is repairable?
We place the vehicle on a 3D unibody frame machine.
Do I need an appointment for an estimate?
No—just drop by our facility. We'll here to help.
How many estimates do I need?
Only one—no law requires you to get more than one estimate.
Do you file the insurance papers?
Yes. We take care of every step of the way and even schedule your car rental.
